Second-hand, extracted from mistfalldb.com on 6 August 2026. Bellring Games have published one sentence about quests, so almost nothing here can be checked against a first-party source. The quest-line order is our inference from the prerequisite graph, not the game's stated order.
Game version Season 1, launch window (game released 29 July 2026) · captured 2026-08-06 · mostly from competitor wiki. Second-hand from mistfalldb.com, which carries no licence statement and lists no source of its own. Bellring Games have published almost nothing about quests — one sentence in DevNote #5 about side quests on the Divine Wood Forest map — so nothing in this table can be checked against a first-party statement.
- Quest line — Ordered by how deep the quest that opens each line sits in the prerequisite graph, which is our inference and not the game's stated order. The nine lines that open with no prerequisite tie at the top and are alphabetical among themselves. Two quests belong to no line at all.
- Step — Position within the quest line.
- What it asks — An N is an unresolved placeholder in the source, not a count we lost. Sixteen objectives arrive with the game's own format token still in them; the quantity has never been published, so it is left unstated.
- Follows — The quest or quests that must be done first.
Most quests are a conversation, not a fight
Seventy of the 128 objectives start with “Talk to”. Eight ask you to kill anything. That ratio is the most useful single fact on this page, because it decides how you spend an evening: quests are not where the game fights you, so there is no reason to save them for a session where you feel sharp.
The rest of the spread is small enough to state in full — eleven send you to a place, nine want you to get out alive with something, five want a camp building upgraded, seven want an item handed over. Nothing else reaches five.
Nine of those objectives are the ones that overlap with the risky half of the game, because “escape successfully” means carrying loot to a Returner Woodling and losing it if you die on the way. Those are the quests worth doing deliberately. The other hundred and nineteen can be cleared while you are doing something else.
The lines are a chain, not a web
Twelve quests have no prerequisite. Those are the twelve places the whole structure starts. Everything else — 116 quests — names something that has to be finished first, and exactly one of them, The Weaver, names two rather than one.
That is worth stating plainly because it is the opposite of how quest graphs usually go. There is almost no branching here. A quest line is a queue: finish this, unlock the next, finish that. The longest chain in the table runs forty-nine quests deep and ends at Fate’s Course in the Soul Experiment line.
Five objectives are camp upgrades rather than anything you do in the mist — the Goddess Statue twice, the Gyldenblod Pool twice, the Tavern once. Those are the points where quest progress stops being about playing and starts being about whether you have banked enough to pay for a building, which is the same currency pressure the Path of Glory ranks apply from the other direction.
Twenty-eight quests that are not on the list you were reading
The database these rows came from renders exactly 100 quest cards on its own index page. Its sitemap lists 128. The 28 in the gap are reachable if you know the URL and invisible if you do not.
They are not filler. The Gylden Hunt Begins is the second quest of the Voice of Prayer line — the opening line of the game — and on that index the line appears to be one quest long instead of six. Pip’s Auction House! Grand Opening! and Soul Stream are two of the only three quests in the entire game that state a character level requirement, at 5 and 8.
A round 100 in a hand-built database is almost always a cap rather than a count, which is the only reason we went looking. Every row above was enumerated from the sitemap for that reason.
What this table does not tell you
Four things, and they are missing at the source rather than dropped here:
- Rewards, mostly. Twenty-one quests of 128 list what they pay. Twelve list a gold figure, and those take one of only four values — 60, 120, 200 or 500. Whatever the other 107 give you is not published anywhere.
- Level requirements. Three quests state one, at levels 5, 8 and 10. It would be reasonable to assume the rest are gated too, and there is no evidence for it, so the column is not there.
- Exact quantities. Sixteen objectives arrive with the game’s own format token still in the string — “Kill {0} Elite monster(s)”. Those show an N above. The number has never been published, and inventing one would be worse than leaving it open.
- Repeatable quests. Nothing in this table covers the daily and weekly quests, or the ones that pay the Echo of Fate currency described on Season 1 — Soul Hunt. This is the story track only.
There is a fifth thing worth knowing that no quest list can warn you about: the quest text and the item names are translated separately, so a quest can ask for ten of something your bag calls by another name. The mappings players have worked out are on quest item names that do not match your inventory.
Where this comes from, and how far to trust it
Second-hand, from mistfalldb.com, captured on 6 August 2026. That site publishes no source of its own and carries no licence statement.
Bellring Games have published, as far as we can find, one sentence about quests in this game: DevNote #5 says the Divine Wood Forest map is “filled with side quests and hidden discovery points”. There is no first-party quest list, no reward table and no level chart. So unlike a weapon stats table, there is no independent figure here to check anything against.
Two observations cut the other way, and they are the only checks available:
- The unresolved format tokens are evidence of provenance. Sixteen
objectives still contain
{0}where a number belongs. Somebody writing up a quest they had played would have typed the number they saw. Strings that keep their format tokens came out of the game files, which makes them more likely to be accurate and less likely to be complete. - The prerequisite graph closes. Every prerequisite names a quest that also exists in the table, across all 116 of them, with no dangling references and no cycles. A hand-assembled list does not usually come out that consistent.
One thing here is ours rather than theirs. The order of the quest lines — which is also the table’s default sort — is derived from the prerequisite graph by asking how deep the quest that opens each line sits. Nobody has published the order lines become available in. The nine lines that open with no prerequisite at all tie at the top and fall alphabetically among themselves, which means nothing, and a quest gated only on character level reads as an opener too. The spine is right and the margins are guesswork. Our corrections and the things we could not resolve are listed on Data sources and corrections.

Frequently asked questions
How many quests are there in Mistfall Hunter?
One hundred and twenty-eight, spread across thirty-one quest lines, plus two that belong to no line at all. Lines run from a single quest up to nine. That count comes from a third-party database rather than from Bellring Games, who have never published a quest list, so treat it as the number somebody could find rather than the number that exists.
What do Mistfall Hunter quests actually ask you to do?
Mostly talk to somebody. Seventy of the 128 objectives begin with talking to an NPC, eleven send you somewhere, nine involve escaping with loot, eight ask you to kill something and five ask you to upgrade a camp building. Quests are the low-risk half of the game, which is why running them alongside your extractions costs you very little.
Do you have to do Mistfall Hunter quests in order?
Within a line, yes. One hundred and sixteen of the 128 quests list a prerequisite, and only one of them needs two quests finished rather than one, so a line is a chain rather than a branching tree. Twelve quests have no prerequisite at all and are where the chains start.
Which NPCs give quests in Mistfall Hunter?
Six are named across the whole table. Dramm gives twenty and Cazarro nineteen, which is nearly a third of every quest with a giver listed between them; Pip and Sigrid give ten each, Soekja four and Twig three. Sixty-two quests list no giver, which is a gap in the source rather than a quest that starts itself.
Why does a quest ask for an item that is not in my bag?
Because the quest text and the item names were translated separately, so the phrase in the quest can be a different name for something you are already carrying. That is a known problem with a short list of worked-out mappings, and it is covered separately.
Where do these Mistfall Hunter quest details come from?
A third-party database, mistfalldb.com, which publishes no source of its own and whose strings still carry the game's unresolved format tokens in sixteen places. Bellring Games have said almost nothing about quests. Every row is marked second-hand for that reason — see the note under the table.
