Mistfall Hunter Weapon Stances

Six classes, ten weapon stances between them, and every stance splits again into two build paths. This table puts all of them side by side so you can see which class carries what before you commit progression to one — and it quotes the developers' own balance wording rather than ranking them ourselves.

All ten weapon stances

Four classes carry two stances each. Blackarrow and Sorcerer currently carry one, and the developers have said a second is planned for the Blackarrow.

  1. This stance can revive downed teammates at range — the only revive documented in the launch-window notes.
  2. Crow Storm no longer stacks on already-stunned players.
  3. Blackarrow has no second stance; the developers say one is planned for a future season.
  4. Sorcerer has no second stance. Baseline spells were given a fast cast when energy is depleted.

Why this is a stance table and not a weapon tier list

A tier list would need us to rank these against each other, and the game is days old. What exists instead is the developers’ own account of what each stance does and what they changed on 30 July — so that is what this table carries, in their words.

The balance column is deliberately not bucketed. Their statements do not come at the same grain: some name a single stance, some name a whole class, and the Seer gets two different verdicts for its two weapons. Sorting that into “buffed” and “nerfed” would turn our reading of their notes into a claim attributed to them.

Why there are no attack or weight numbers here

Because the developers have not published any. The launch-window Developer Updates and the Steam page describe what each stance does and how it was tuned, and they are detailed about it — but they give no attack, weight, reach or scaling figures for any weapon in the game.

A figure nobody outside can check is a different kind of claim from a sentence the developers published, and this table only carries the second kind.

There is a third route to such numbers, and it is worth being straight about it: the game files. A third-party wiki has published per-weapon attack and damage figures that appear to have been extracted that way, and we have collected them onto their own pages — weapon stats, armour stats and accessory stats — with every row marked as second-hand.

They are deliberately not merged into this table, for two reasons. They describe different things: this table is about the ten stances, the way a class fights, while those cover the individual weapons you pick up. And they rest on different evidence: everything here traces to a sentence Bellring Games published, while everything there traces to one wiki nobody can audit. Putting both in one table would average those two standards into a single unlabelled one.

If the studio publishes real stance figures, they will go in here as their own columns with that provenance attached.

Stances are only the first choice

Every stance splits into two build paths, so a class with two stances offers four genuinely different characters. Some of those splits change what you do for the team rather than how much damage you deal — the Seer’s Catalyst is the clear case, where only the Support path carries healing. Others change your timing: the Shadowstrix’s Dual Blades either detonate accumulated wound stacks at once or ramp a multiplier the longer you stay on a target.

The class guides cover what each path actually does in a fight.

Frequently asked questions

How many weapon stances are in Mistfall Hunter?

Ten across the six classes. The Withered Knight, Mercenary, Shadowstrix and Seer carry two stances each; the Blackarrow and the Sorcerer currently carry one, and the developers have said a second Blackarrow weapon is planned for a future season.

Which Mistfall Hunter stance can heal teammates?

The Seer's Catalyst, and only on its Support build path. That is the one stance the developers document with team healing and shielding.

Can you switch weapon stances mid-fight?

Yes. The official description says you can swap fighting styles mid-battle to adapt to an encounter, which is why classes with two stances effectively offer four different characters once build paths are counted.

Which stances were changed in the 30 July balance pass?

The Shadowstrix was reduced for overperforming on mobility and chain crowd control, and the Blackarrow's Bow was reduced after being called slightly overturned in solo mode. The Withered Knight and Mercenary were buffed. The table quotes the developers' wording for each stance rather than sorting them into buffed and nerfed buckets.

What are the attack, weight and reach numbers for each weapon stance?

Bellring Games has not published any. The launch-window Developer Updates and the Steam page describe what each stance does and how it was tuned, but give no attack, weight, reach or scaling figures for any stance. This table therefore lists what the developers stated and no invented figures. Per-weapon attack numbers do exist elsewhere — a third-party wiki has published figures that look extracted from the game files, and we have collected them on the weapon stats page with every row marked as second-hand. They cover individual weapons rather than stances, and nothing first-party backs them up, which is why they are kept on their own page instead of being mixed in here.
